onetap web Portsmouth · Hampshire

Web design in Portsmouth, built for a phone in one hand.

Dense streets, heavy footfall, a lot of students, and almost every decision made on a phone while walking. Your site needs to load fast, show the price, and take the order or the booking in three taps. If you sell food, it can take collection orders without a marketplace taking a cut.

01 / What you get

Made for how a city actually buys.

Six things that matter more in a dense city than anywhere else.

01

Fast on a bad connection

Hand-coded and light, so it loads on three bars walking down Commercial Road. Page builders do not.

02

Three taps to order

No account, no faff. Every extra step loses a chunk of the people who were about to buy.

03

Collection ordering

Straight to the kitchen, alerts built so nothing goes missing on a Friday. No cut taken from the order.

04

Prices where people look

Visible without hunting. Hiding the price to force an enquiry loses more than it wins.

05

Found for the specific thing

Not “takeaway Portsmouth”, which nobody wins fast, but the specific dish or trade and the specific area.

06

Hours that close themselves

Set them once and ordering shuts when you do. No calls about food you cannot cook.

02 / Food work

A takeaway running its own ordering.

Ozzy Kebab is in Southampton rather than Portsmouth, but it is the same job: own domain, own menu, own orders, no commission.

04 / FAQ

Portsmouth questions, answered.

Including whether this gets you off the delivery apps. It does not, entirely.

You are in Eastleigh. Why would I use you over someone in Portsmouth?
For a website, being in the same postcode changes nothing about the work. Where it does matter is meeting in person, and Portsmouth is a manageable drive for us, so we can. If you want somebody who will be in your shop within the hour, use somebody in Portsmouth. If you want the site done properly for a flat monthly fee, distance is not the deciding factor.
We are a takeaway. Does this get us off Just Eat?
Not entirely, and we would not pretend otherwise. The platforms bring you people who have never heard of you, and that is worth something. What your own site does is stop you paying commission on the regulars who already know your name. Most places run both and watch the balance shift.
What does the food ordering handle?
Collection orders, with a menu that copes with sizes, meal deals, extras and swaps, and alerts built so an order cannot go missing during a Friday rush. Card payments go into your own Stripe account at 1.9% + 30p, which is a processing fee rather than a cut of the order.
Portsmouth is competitive. Will I actually rank?
Depends entirely on what you do. “Takeaway Portsmouth” is a fight nobody wins quickly. “Turkish barber Fratton” or “Lebanese Southsea” is a different matter. We build the page for the phrases you can realistically win and get your Google listing in order. Anyone promising you top spot for the big term is guessing.
Lots of student trade. Anything different about that?
It pushes everything onto the phone. Order in three taps, no account to create, prices visible without hunting. A site designed on a desktop and never tested on a phone loses that trade completely.
Southsea, Fratton, Cosham. All covered?
Yes, along with North End, Copnor, Milton, Eastney, Hilsea and the rest of the island.
