onetap web Southampton · Hampshire

Web design in Southampton without the agency price tag.

A city-centre studio will quote you four figures up front and then bill you for hosting. We do it the other way round: nothing to pay up front, £10 a month all in, and the site is hand-coded rather than dragged together in a page builder. We’re in Eastleigh, five miles up the road.

01 / The maths

Where the money normally goes.

Six things that usually appear as separate line items on a Southampton quote. Here they’re one number.

01

The build

Normally the big up-front number. Here it’s spread into the monthly fee, so month one costs the same as month twelve.

02

Hosting

Usually £10–25 a month on top, or a yearly invoice you forget about until it bounces. Included.

03

The domain

Registered and renewed for you, in your name if you’d rather. If you leave, it comes with you at no cost.

04

SSL, security, backups

The padlock, the patching and the nightly backup. Boring, non-negotiable, included.

05

Small changes

A couple a month are in the fee. Most places bill these at an hourly rate with a minimum charge, which is why nobody ever updates their site.

06

On-page SEO

Proper titles, headings, structured data and a fast page, on every plan. Not an upsell.

Want booking, quoting, invoicing, a shop or food ordering too? That’s the £15 tier. Compare the plans →

02 / Southampton work

A recent Southampton build.

Ozzy Kebab is a kebab van in Southampton. Bold red brand, full menu, orders that land straight with the kitchen.

Ozzy Kebab

Kebab van · Southampton

A van doing good trade with nowhere to send people online. Now there’s a proper site on its own domain with the full menu and collection ordering, and the order alerts are built so they can’t quietly fail during a Friday rush. No marketplace commission on any of it.

04 / FAQ

Southampton questions, answered.

Including the one everybody wants to ask about the price.

How much does a website cost in Southampton?
Most Southampton studios quote somewhere between £800 and £3,000 up front for a small-business site, then charge separately for hosting and for changes. We charge £10 a month for a website with hosting, domain and SSL included, or £15 a month if you need booking, quoting, invoicing, a shop or food ordering with it. Nothing up front.
What’s the catch at £10 a month?
There isn’t a hidden one, but there is a trade-off worth knowing: it’s a monthly service, not a one-off purchase. You’re not buying a file and walking away, you’re paying for the site to be hosted, kept secure and kept current. The domain is yours and we’ll transfer it free if you ever leave, so you’re not locked in.
You’re in Eastleigh, not Southampton, does that matter?
We’re about five miles up the road, so we can be in Shirley, Portswood or Bitterne quicker than most of the city-centre agencies can get across town. Plenty of our work is Southampton work.
Will I rank for “… in Southampton”?
Southampton is competitive, and it depends entirely on your trade, “plumber Southampton” is a fight, “Turkish barber Portswood” much less so. We build the page right, target the specific phrases you can realistically win, and get your Google Business Profile in order. What we won’t do is promise you a number-one spot.
Can you move my existing site over?
Yes. We rebuild it, keep your existing page addresses so you don’t lose ranking, point the domain across and switch over out of hours so you’re never offline during the day.
Do I need the £15 plan?
Only if you want the tools. If you just need a proper website that makes the phone ring, £10 is the one. Salons and barbers usually want booking, trades want quoting and invoicing, takeaways want ordering, shops want a checkout. That’s the £15 plan. You can move up whenever, and there’s no charge for switching.
