I’m a one-man trade. Is a website worth it?
Only if it saves you time or wins you work you’d otherwise miss. What usually does both is the quoting side. A customer fills in what they need, you send a quote with your logo on it from your phone, and it’s tracked through to paid without any paperwork. The website is what makes that possible, rather than being the point in itself.
Most of my work comes from word of mouth. What changes?
Word of mouth still ends with someone searching your name to check you’re real. If nothing comes up, or a Facebook page from 2019 does, you lose some of them right there. A site is mostly there to show you’re a proper business.
What does the quoting side actually do?
It takes the enquiry, lets you send a priced quote with your own branding, tracks it from sent to accepted, then turns it into an invoice and chases it if it goes unpaid. That comes with the £15 Trades plan.
Can you take over a site somebody else built?
Usually. We’ll rebuild it properly, keep your existing page addresses so you don’t lose whatever ranking you have, and move the domain over. If you’re tied into a contract elsewhere, we’ll tell you whether it’s worth waiting it out.
