Is Romsey too small to bother with a website?
If anything, a small town makes a better case for one. Your regulars already know you, so the people you still need to reach are the ones who don’t, like newcomers and visitors, and they find you by searching. There’s also far less competition for “something in Romsey” than for the same search in Southampton.
I run everything off a Facebook page. What would I gain?
Mainly that Google can read it properly, which often isn’t true of a Facebook page. It also reaches people who aren’t on Facebook, and there are more of them than you’d think. And because you own it, nobody can change the rules or cut your reach overnight. You can keep the Facebook page as well.
